Oscars 2016: and the nominees are…

 

The Revenant picked up the most Oscar nods of the year, with 12 nominations. Eddie Redmayne earned his second Best Actor nomination in a row (fresh off his win last year for The Theory of Everything), while Alicia Vikander, Brie Larson and Rachel McAdams are among the actresses receiving their first ever Oscar nominations.

The nominees for the 88th Academy Awards (which will be held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, February 28, 2016) are as follows:
