Well, hello!
The CW has unveiled the costume of its title character in the upcoming television series The Flash. The verdict on the leather (that’s what it looks like) hugging our super speedy superhero? It’s red hot.
Well, to be honest, the only thing we can see is his mask, so we don’t know if the rest of his costume will look gush-worthy.
The Flash is intended to be a spin-off of The CW’s Arrow (based on vigilante archer Green Arrow), and will be set in the same universe. Thus, the man behind the mask will be the same actor who portrayed Barry Allen in Arrow; the oh-so-sexy Grant Gustin (of Dalton Warblers fame, among his other works).
For those who know of my dissatisfaction with the standard of Arrow (and its portrayal of one of my favourite comic book heroes), it should come as no surprise to you that I’m trying to “keep my expectations low” for The Flash. That’s just a euphemism for “I’m expecting the same crappy fight scenes, forgettable acting and bleh plot”. But I don’t like to judge something before I’ve even seen it, so I’ll give The Flash the benefit of the doubt. Let’s see what The CW comes up with.
